On October 7th, 2016 the Coalition for Children and Youth is holding a general meeting. The goal of the Coalition is to develop the system of child and youth welfare in the country, as well as support the protection of children and youth’s rights. The Coalition will attempt to achieve this goal by uniting the civil society/non-governmental organizations and private persons working on children and youth’s issues in Georgia based on the principle of equal rights.

GASW is the member of the Council of the Coalition and actively supports the Coalition’s work. Within the frames of this work, GASW is undertaking the project United Voices for Children which actively supports the Coalition in undertaking the noted general meeting.

The goal of the general meeting is to present the yearly report and to approve the new statutes.
 

 

GASW together with the Georgian Health Law and Bioethics Society representatives will hold the next training for Kakheti region village doctors and nurses starting from September 30th. GASW trainer, Natalia Bedianashvili is involved in the noted training within the frames of the project of the Czech Republic Caritas “Enhancing accessibility of medical and social services for persons with disabilities”.

On September 15th, GASW Chairperson, Nino Shatberashvili will hold a meeting in Telavi with members in Kakheti region.  The goal of the noted meeting is to discuss professional achievements and challenges, factors supporting and hindering professional activities, as well as systemic and individual problems faced by social workers; also, the goals include assessment of the quality of service provision in each region, holding discussions on improving the existing services and on other current issues, and setting future plans. In addition, this meeting has a goal to support GASW members to more actively engage in the improvement and development of the profession.
 

On August 23rd, GASW Chairperson, Nino Shatberashvili will hold a meeting in Gori with members in Shida Kartli region.  
The goal of the noted meeting is to discuss professional achievements and challenges, factors supporting and hindering professional activities, as well as systemic and individual problems faced by social workers; also, the goals include assessment of the quality of service provision in each region, holding discussions on improving the existing services and on other current issues, and setting future plans. In addition, this meeting has a goal to support GASW members to more actively engage in the improvement and development of the profession.
