Out of twelve guardianship-custody regional councils of the Social Service Agency functioning in Georgia, GASW will have a representative in ten of them. GASW representatives will attend meetings in 9 regional councils (among them 2 in Tbilisi), except Guria And Racha.
Guardianship-custody regional council is composed of the representatives of Social Service Agency as well as of other public institution and NGOs, dealing with social services. The Council reviews the cases, developed and submitted by social workers to the guardianship-custody service and gets the final decision, basing on recommendations of social workers and discussions. Therefore, having a representative in such Council is important for facilitation of social workers’ professional activity, promotion of professional values and getting of the best decisions for beneficiaries.
We are glad to have an opportunity of contributing to the effective functioning of the Council and hope, with the assistance of our members, committed to the development of the profession, we will manage to cover all regions in Georgia in the near future.
