Informational meeting with schoolchildren, aimed at youngsters’ awareness raising on social work profession was held in GASW. 15 students attended the meeting from IX-XI grades. At the meeting, the Association members presented the goals of social work, target groups, methods of work, values of professions, its development and future perspectives in Georgia, as well as the goals and current activity of the organization. In addition to that, the focus was made on social work practice with juveniles in conflict with the law and the students got detailed information on social workers' activity in a probation system.
This meeting with students was held by the initiative of Sopho Bachilava – representative of a Civic Education program “Future Generation”. The program is being implemented by PH International in 480 public schools in Georgia with the financial assistance of USAID.
