It is notable that Anika was selected as the venue of the meeting and Social Therapy House was selected as the provider of food and stationary for the meeting with the goal to support these organizations of and for persons with disabilities which are currently experiencing significant financial challenges due to the lack of funding from the state.

On December 8th, GASW organized a meeting with the community of persons with disabilities and their family members. The meeting was held at Association Anika (an organization of and for persons with disabilities). The meeting was organized within the frames of the project “Support to Social Inclusion of Youth with Disabilities” which is implemented in partnership with People in Need, Czech international non-governmental organization and with financial support from Czech Development Agency. The topics discussed included various problematic issues for the community, as well as the ways to settle these issues. The members of the meeting had an opportunity to share information about the new developments and resources within and for the community. In addition, concepts of school social work and youth work for persons with disabilities were presented and discussed. Also, Paata Gurgenidze, representative of the Children and Youth Development Fund, spoke with the participants about the programs and general novelties for the community of persons with disabilities at the Fund.
