Ceremonial meeting with colleagues in celebration of a training course graduation was held in GASW. GASW trainers provided an incomplete basic program of social work to the staff of the organization “Hesed Eliyahu”, within the initiative “Social Work for Non-certified Social workers”.

GASW conducts the training “Development of Social Skills in Youth with Disabilities”
On June 13, 14 and 15, GASW will hold a training “Development of Social Skills in Young People with Disabilities”. The training will be conducted within the framework of the project “Support of Social Inclusion of Youth with Disabilities in Georgia” that is being implemented in cooperation with Czech International organization “People in Need” with assistance of the Czech Development Agency. The trainings are provided to the grantee organizations of Children and Youth Development Fund (The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs) and to the part of their beneficiaries. Training is being implemented in cooperation with the Children and Youth National Center (The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs). The key goal of the training is to support the grantee organizations of Children and Youth Development Fund, implementing the projects directed at the enhancement of the employability of youth with disabilities.

Training on Disability Issues was delivered by the Association for Kakheti Region Doctors and Nurses
On July 1-2, 8-9, together with a partner organization “Bioethics Society”, GASW conducted trainings for doctors and nurses of Kakheti region villages, within the framework of the project “Improving Health and Social Care Accessibility For People With Disabilities.” The topic of the training : rights of people with disabilities, types of communication, autism, tools for identification of child early development disorders, social worker’s role in a primary healthcare – international experience, specifics of the patients rights’ protection hot line functioning.

Under the auspices of the Association, the background was established for the integration of social worker’s practice in a primary healthcare system
Within the framework of the project “Improving Health and Social Care Accessibility For People With Disabilities” of the “Czech Caritas Georgia” – the background was established for understanding of social worker’s profession and practice in a primary healthcare system with participation of the Association. A pilot project, considering engagement of social workers in delivery of primary healthcare services for people with disabilities was launched by the initiative of GASW representatives.
