GASW is involved in the implementation of a project for children with disabilities
GASW is involved in the project “Capacity Building of Professionals for Improving Small-Scale Alternative Services for Children with Severe Disabilities”, which is being implemented with financial assistance of UNICEF and USAID.
The goal of the project is to ensure delivery of the appropriate services for children with disabilities through the strengthening of the staff of small-scale alternative services and social workers; development of the mechanisms for supervision of professionals and service monitoring; strengthening of the service providers’ social advocacy skills.
Within the framework of the project, the members of the Guardianship-Custody Council will be trained. Trainings will be provided to social workers for ensuring effective services and advocacy skills.

On September 9, meeting of the founders and honorary members was held in the Association. The meeting was attended by the Association current Chairperson – Nino Shatberashvili, members of the board – Salome Namicheishvili, Natia Partskhaladze, Shorena Sadzaglishvili, Marina Ushveridze, and by the Association member – Maguli Shagzashvili.

GASW will have a representative in almost all guardianship-custody regional councils
Out of twelve guardianship-custody regional councils of the Social Service Agency functioning in Georgia, GASW will have a representative in ten of them. GASW representatives will attend meetings in 9 regional councils (among them 2 in Tbilisi), except Guria And Racha.
