ოჯახში ძალადობის შემცირების პროექტის ფარგლებში სოციალური მომსახურების სააგენტოს სოციალური მუშაკები გადამზადდნენ. 7 დეკემბერს ტრენინგების დახურვის ცერემონიაში მონაწილეობა მიიღო სალომე ნამიჭეიშვილმა, სოციალურ მუშაკთა ასოციაციის დამფუძნებელმა. სალომე პროექტის ფარგლებში თანამშრომლობდა ადამიანით ვაჭრობის (ტრეფიკინგის) მსხვერპლთა, დაზარალებულთა დაცვისა და დახმარების სახელმწიფო ფონდთან და შეიმუშავა სოციალური მუშაკებისთვის ტრენინგ მოდულები. მან და ამერიკელმა ექსპერტმა, მაჰნაზ ჰარისონმა, ჩაატარეს ტრენერთა ტრენინგი, რომლის ფარგლებშიც მომზადნენ უფროსი სოციალური მუშაკები, ხოლო შემდეგ მათ მიერ მომზადდნენ ყველა მოქმედი სოციალური მუშაკი. ამ პროცესში უფროს სოციალურ მუშაკებს დახმარებას უწევდნენ საქართველოს სოციალურ მუშაკთა ასოციაციის ტრენერები, გურანდა თეთრაძე, ნელი აკობია და ნათია მაჭარაშვილი. დახურვის ცერემონიაზე სოციალურ მუშაკებს სიტყვით USAID–ის მისიის დირექტორმა, დუგლას ბოლმა, ჯანდაცვის მინისტრის მოადგილემ, ვალერი კვარაცხელიამ, ადამიანით ვაჭრობის (ტრეფიკინგის) მსხვერპლთა, დაზარალებულთა დაცვისა და დახმარების სახელმწიფო ფონდის დირექტორმა, თამუნა ბარკალაიამ და სალომე ნამიჭეიშვილმა მიმართეს. სალომემ აღნიშნა, რომ სოციალურმა მუშაკებმა შეძლონ რა ეფექტური რეაგირება ოჯახში ძალადობის შემთხვევებზე, მნიშვნელოვანია სწავლების თანმიმდევრული გაგრძელება, ასევე, მათი ინსტიტუციური მხარდაჭერის გაძლიერება სოციალური მომსახურების სააგენტოს მხრიდან. 2012 წლიდან სოციალური მუშაკების ფუნქციები მნიშვნელოვნად გაიზარდა, თუმცა მათი რაოდენობა სისტემაში კვლავ უცვლელი რჩება.

Meeting with monitoring group representatives was held

Georgian Association of Social Workers (GASW) held a meeting with representatives of the monitoring groups of different entities. The meeting was organized within the framework of the project “Capacity Building of Professionals for Improving Small-Scale Alternative Services for Children With Severe Disabilities”, funded by the USAID and UNICEF. The working meeting was held on December 6, with participation of the representatives of the Social Service Agency Guardianship - Custody department, monitoring team of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Public Defender’s office, monitoring team of the State Fund for Protection and Assistance of (statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking and UNICEF.

On December 1st, GASW organized a meeting on the topic of school social work for the practitioners from state and non-state organizations. The meeting was held at Social Therapy House, an organization offering social enterprise-type and therapeutic services to persons with disabilities.

Meeting with a topic “Never Violence!” was held in Sweden

Meeting with a topic “Never Violence!”, organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, Swedish Institute and the “Save the Children” was held in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, on 28.11 – 01.12. 2017. GASW founder and member of the Board, Natia Partskhaladze has participated in this event, which was dedicated to the abolition of corporal punishment. The ways and difficulties of establishing positive methods of child upbringing and non-violent environment in Sweden and participating countries were discussed during the visit.

The Association introduced schoolchildren to the social work profession

Informational meeting with schoolchildren, aimed at youngsters’ awareness raising on social work profession was held in GASW. 15 students attended the meeting from IX-XI grades. At the meeting, the Association members presented the goals of social work, target groups, methods of work, values of professions, its development and future perspectives in Georgia, as well as the goals and current activity of the organization. In addition to that, the focus was made on social work practice with juveniles in conflict with the law and the students got detailed information on social workers' activity in a probation system.

On November 29th, GASW hosted a round-table for SSA senior social workers and social workers working in the field of mental health.
